Fusion Drums is pleased to announce that drummer, percussionist, educator, and author, Dom Moio is joining the our family of artist endorsers. Dom has been on faculty at Arizona State University for over 20 years, and is an active performer and teacher in the Phoenix area. Dom has played with jazz luminaries such as Mose Allison, Herb Ellis, Ahmad Jamal and Clark Terry. He has studied with Bernard Purdie, Alan Dawson and Cuban Master Percussionist Walfredo de los Reyes Sr. Dom has recorded over 65 albums, and authored several instructional books including Latin Percussion for Gringos, Deep Grooves and Deep Grooves II with the legendary Steve Gadd.

Drummer Café, the oldest drum related educational resource on the web, announced on July 16, 2014 that Gig-a-Tul endorser Andy Ziker joined the Drummer Café educational team. Andy Ziker is an accomplished musician, teacher, author and inventor. Andy earned a Bachelor’s degree in music, and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. Andy’s dedication to percussion education is evident through decades of teaching, as well as his six acclaimed drum instruction books. He also has published a number of articles in Modern Drummer and Drum! magazines and on the Drummer Café. Andy currently plays and teaches in the San Jose area of California and can be reached via his website or Facebook.

Roberto Paz was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. While attending Arizona State University, Roberto taught marching percussion at local high schools around the valley. Many of these high schools earned significant accomplishments in Percussion Captions, State, and Regional Championships.
Roberto also has an extensive experience that supports his Drum and Bugle Corps background. Roberto played snare drum with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps from 2004-2007 and was a part of the 2006 World Championship. Roberto continued to march with the Concord Blue Devils from 2008-2010 and was the center snare in 2010. Roberto had the opportunity to be part of two Undefeated World Championships and a Fred Sanford Award for Best Percussion Performance. Roberto has had the privilege and honor to work under people such as Phil Edwards, Chris Evans, Wardell King, Glen Crosby, Ralph Hardimon, Scott Johnson, Ben Maughmer, Gary Juarez, Tim Tintari, Rudy Garcia, Ricky Odello, Sean Vega and various educators in the marching world.
As an ASU Undergraduate, Roberto had the opportunity to work and study under Professor J.B. Smith, Dr. Mark Sunkett, Simone Mancuso, Dom Moio, and graduate assistant Bill Sallak. He also had the privilege of working with James Hudson, the Director of Athletic Bands while in his third year in college. Roberto is entering his 5th season as the Marching Percussion Director with the Sun Devil Marching Band alongside James Hudson. Under Roberto’s direction, Arizona State University will be competing in the Percussion Winter Guard International Championships in Dayton, Ohio for the 2013.
Roberto Paz is a Remo drumhead Artist and is an active participant in many of the local and national professional affiliations. His memberships include Arizona Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Educators, Percussive Arts Society, and Arizona Band Orchestra Directors Association. Roberto is currently the Director of Bands at Rhodes Junior High. He is also an active clinician and arranger throughout the country, working with numerous high schools and other organizations.
Roberto currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his fiancé Jenny.
Gig-a-Tul by Fusion Drums was well represented at the 2013 WGI Phoenix Regional held on March 2, 2013. Gig-a-Tul endorser Roberto Paz tuned up the Arizona State University Winter Drum Line, which competes in the Independent World division. The Gig-a-Tul was warmly welcomed to the Breakthrough Indoor Percussion line, which competes in the Independent Open division, and the six-time defending Arizona State Champions, Basha High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble, which competes in the Scholastic Open division, also uses the Gig-a-Tul.
